Leland died April 3, 2015 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. OBIT: Leland Smith, 76, of Brookhaven, MS, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 3, 2015 at Silver Cross Nursing Home in Brookhaven, MS. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home (894 Natchez Drive) on Saturday, April 4, 2015 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive). The graveside service will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Garland Boyd will be officiating the services. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Smith was born February 3, 1939 in Brookhaven, MS to Edgar Lee and Mavis Anding Smith. He was a retired press operator at Homelite Textron in Brookhaven, MS. After retirement, he worked several years as a janitor at Faith Presbyterian Church. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Lee and Mavis Anding Smith; daughter, Cathy Lynn Smith; and brother, Darrell G. Smith.
Survivors are his wife of 48 years, Dorothy Smith of Brookhaven; his son, Duane Smith of Brookhaven, MS; daughter, Rebecca Smith Baker and husband Donnie of Brookhaven, MS; brother, Leonard Smith and wife Connie of Brookhaven, MS; grandchildren, Corey Baker, Zach Baker, Jacob Baker, Josh Baker and Brandon Baker; and a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.
He married twice. He married Christine Wilson August 3, 1962. Christine was born February 15, 1938. Christine died August 13, 1965. Christine was buried in Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery, Franklin Co., MS.

54492 i. Kathy Lynn13 Smith was born in Vicksburg, Warren Co., MS October 14 ,1967. Kathy died january 23, 2001 in Jackson, Hinds Co, MS. OBIT: Services for Kathy Lynn Smith of Brookhaven are 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 25, at Macedonia Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is today from 4-9 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home. Miss Smith, 33, died Jan. 23, 2001, at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was born in Vicksburg on Oct. 14, 1967. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Orbie and Mady Sims. Survivors are her parents, Leland and Dorothy Sims Smith of Brookhaven; her grandparents, Edgar Lee and Mavis Smith of Brookhaven; her brother, Duane Smith of Brookhaven; her sister, Rebecca Baker of Brookhaven; her brother-in-law, Donny Baker of Brookhaven; and her nephews, Corey Baker and Jack Baker, both of Brookhaven.
