Eileen died April 27, 2008 in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY. OBIT: Eileen Randall Wasson, 86, a resident of Madison, Ind., and formerly a resident of Severna Park for 47 years, died April 27 at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
Mrs. Wasson was born Nov, 20, 1921, in Christian County, Ill., to the late Irl and Audrey Colclasure Randall. Raised in Blue Mound, Ill., she graduated from Blue Mound High School in 1939. She also attended business school in Decatur, Ill. She moved from Severna Park to Madison in June 2007.
She worked as a secretary in the medical field at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore for several years. Prior to that, she had worked as a secretary for several insurance companies.
She was a member of the Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, where she served on various committees and was its treasurer for 47 years. She was also a charter member and served as regent of Fort Severn Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the Colonial Dames, Severna Park Chapter. She served for many years as a Girl Scouts leader.
Mrs. Wasson enjoyed genealogy, painting, needlework, tatting, caning, quilting and gardening. She also enjoyed playing the mandolin, piano and organ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold M. Wasson, whom she married in 1947; and one half sister, Marian Sughrue.
Survivors include one son, Harold Randall Wasson of Madison; one daughter, Caryl Lynne Liptak of Madison; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow at the First Christian Church of Blue Mound, 100 S. Lewis St. in Blue Mound. Interment will follow in Hall Cemetery in Blue Mound, Ill. Arrangements are by Morgan and Nay Funeral Centre in Madison, Ind.
She married Harry M. Wasson August 29, 1947 in Blue Mound, Macon Co., IL. Harry was born March 29, 1925. Harry died April 13, 1999 in Severna Park, Anne Arundel Co., MD. Harry and Eileen were buried at tthe Hall Cemetery Blue Mound Macon Co., IL
