Ruth died June 30, 2005 in Winston Salem, Forsyth Co., NC. OBIT: Dianne Steelman Pinkston, 65, died Thursday (June 30, 2005) at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center following a brief illness. Born June 23, 1940 she was a son of the late Martha Shoaf Steelman and James Ray Steelman, Sr. Educated in Rowan County schools, she retired from the W.G. Hefner Veterans Hospital after 31 years of service and currently worked at Enon Baptist Church Child Care. She was a member of Maupin Avenue Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pinkston was preceded in death by two children, James Wayne "Pedro" Steelman and Traci Michelle Jackson. Survivors include husband John W. Pinkston, sons: Rusty Jackson and wife Laura and David Jackson and wife Shannon, all of Salisbury, daughter, Cindy Jackson Pruett and husband Greg of Raleigh, brothers: Donald Steelman of Salisbury, James (Jimmy) Steelman of China Grove and James Ray Steelman, Jr of Denver and one sister, Judy Overcash of Rockwell, seven grandchildren and 6 step grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and 1 step great-grandchild. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Lyerly Funeral Home. Services: 2 p.m. Sunday, James C. Lyerly Chapel, Rev. Randy Foster, pastor Maupin Avenue Presbyterian Church will officiate.
