Nelson died November 27, 2009 in Yadkinville, Yadkin Co., NC. OBIT: Mr. Nelson Hall "Duck" Dinkins, 79, who was a loving husband, father and papaw, passed away Friday, November 27, 2009 at his home. He was born July 2, 1930 in Yadkin County to the late Williams and Minnie Dinkins. He served in the United States Air Force during 1951 1953. In addition to his parents, her was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Douthit; brothers, W.R. Dinkins, Jr., Cecil H. Dinkins, James R. Dinkins. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Ellis Dinkins; children, Barry Dean (Lou Ann) Dinkins, Sharon (Skip) Hill; grandchildren, Sheena Hill, Summer Hill, Savannah Hill, Brad Dinkins, Zack Dinkins, Matt (Jayna-Beth) Dinkins; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special cousin, Treva Brown. His funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 30, 2009 at Gentry Family Chapel, in Yadkinville, by the Rev. Michael Faircloth. Burial will follow at Deep Creek Baptist Cemetery with full military honors by Yadkin VFW Post 10346. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
