Marshall died December 12, 2002 in Yadkinville, Yadkin Co., NC. OBIT: Mr. Marshall Ray Hutchens, 58, of Virginia Drive passed away Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at Hoots Memorial Hospital. He was born Oct. 6, 1944, in Yadkin County to James McKensie and Cora Leigh Myers Hutchens. Mr. Hutchens was retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation, and was a member of the Yadkinville Church of God. He was preceded in death by his father and by a brother, James Hugh Hutchens. Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Lucy Church Hutchens, of the home; four daughters, Marie Chappell, Christine (Terry) Hartle, Dorothy (Joe) Gibbs, Rita (Robert) Buck; a son, Chris Chappell; his mother of Mocksville; two brothers, Clyde Eugene (Ofelia) Hutchens and Henry Lee (Debbie) Hutchens; three sisters, Janie Driver, Faye Whitaker and Patsy (Jimmy) Church; 10 grandchildren, Allen (Angie) Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, Kathy Strader, Teresa (Mark) Cotter, Tonya (Jimmy) Long, Candy (Ronald) Ray, Angel (Ricky) Wishon, Roxanne Buck, Rebecca Buck and Autumn Chappell; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was a faithful and loving father and grandfather. You will be missed very much. His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday Oct. 15, 2002, at the Yadkinville Church of God by the Rev. Tim Jones. Burial will follow in the Harmony Grove Friends Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at Yadkinville Church of God in Yadkinville. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Hutchens Family.
