Garneta died August 13,1997 in Peoria, Peoria Co., IL. OBIT: Garneta M. Stringer, 86, of Bel-Wood Nursing Home in Peoria County, died there at 9:05 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, 1997.
Born April 25, 1911, in Pearl to Ernest and Verna Smith McCann, she married Gerald N. Stringer on February 1939 in Iowa. He died July 10, 1988, in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by one sister.
Surviving are one son, Eugene L. of Bellevue; one grandson; one brother, Kenneth McCann of Peoria; and one sister, Ersel Werd of Peoria.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2602 Auxiliary in Peoria Heights.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
She married Gerald N. Stringer February 1839. Gerald was born June 11,1916. Gerald died July 10, 1988.
Garneta McCann and Gerald N. Stringer had the following child:
