Charley died Septembe 13, 1975 in Springfield, Greene Co., MO. Obit: Charley Everett Smith, son of William Henry and Dora Rush Smith, was born on August 3, 1901 in Dallas County, Missouri. He departed this life on September 13, at 7:50 a.m. in Park Central Hospital in Springfield, following a lingering illness. He was 74 years, one month and 10 days of age at the time of his death.

Charley was saved and united with the Mt. Zion Baptist Church at an early age. He was united in marriage to Flora Alice Williams om March 14, 1926 and to this union five children were born. Flora passed away on Marc 17, 1957.

Charley worked as a trucker most of his life. Anyone who knew him respected him as a person who believed in working hard.

He was united in marriage on November 16, 1961 to Angie Lowrain Klapp. To this union one daughter was born.

He is survuved by his wife, Angie of the home; a son, Bobby of Buffalo; three step-sons, James, Larry, and Ray Klapp all of Buffalo; four daughters, Mrs. Virginia Thompson of Malta Bend, Mrs. Bonnie Faye Junkins of Norborne, Mrs. Doris Dampier of Quincy and Terry Smith of the home; a step-daughter, Debra Klapp of the home; two brothers, Neil of Pleasant Hope and Richard W. of Long Lane; two half-brothers, Jimmy and Frank both of Marshall; three step-brothers, Tommy Hood of Houstonia, George Hood of Marshall and Charlie Hood of Buffalo; a sister, Mrs. Mabel Smith of Paseo, Washington; a half-sister Mrs. Shirley Jasper of Long Lane; a step-sister, Mrs. Margaret Smith of Pleasant Hill and step-mother, Mrs. Anna Smith of Buffalo; 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 16, at 2 p.m. in the Parish Chapel with Robert Long officiating. Music was provided by Richard Nicodemus who sang, "In The Garden" and "Amazing Grace" accompanied by Mrs. Ruth Kreisel.

Escorts were Arley Jasper, Roger Jasper, Leland Jasper, Berle Jasper, Jesse Jasper, and Bert Jasper. Interment was in Four Mile Cemetery under the direction of the Parish Funeral Home of Buffalo.

He married twice. He married Flora Alice Williams March 14 1926 in Dallas Co., MO. Flora was born April 4, 1905 in Dallas Co., MO. Flora was the daughter of Green Berry Williams and Aminda Elizabeth Slack. Flora died March 17, 1957 in Dallas Co., MO. Obit: Flora Alice Smith, daughter of Greenberry and Arminda Williams, was born April 4, 1905 at Long Lane, Missouri, and passed away at burge Hospital, Springfield, Missouri, March 17, 1957 at the age of 51 years, 11 months and 21 days.

She was united in marriage to Charley Smith on March 14, 1926. To this union five children were born: Mrs. Virginia Thompson and Dorris Jean Dampier of Long Lane, Missouri, Bobby Smith of North, Missouri, adn Bonnie Faye Smith of the home. One son, Billy, her father and mother, and one sister, Ruby, preceded her in death. She is also survived by five sisters and three brothers, Leta Barclay and Ray Williams of Buffalo, Missouri, Mrs. Leah Bennett of Long Lane, Missouri, Mrs. May Wing, Frank and Clyde Williams of Emporia, Kansas, Enola Belle Place of Pendleton, Oregon and Ruth Scott of St. Louis, Missouri, nine grandchildren and many relatives and friends.

She was converted and baptized and joined the Free Will Baptist Church at Benton Branch on May 14, 1922.

Flora was a wonderful person to all who knew her, always greeting her friends with a smile. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services were held at L. B. Jones Funeral Home March 21, 1957 with Rev. Ross Carter officiating. Interment was in Oak Lawn Cemetery under direction of L. B. Jones.

Charley Everett Smith and Flora Alice Williams had the following children:

 23723 iv. Virginia Ruth Smith was born May 12, 1927.

 23724 v. Kenneth Irvan (Billy) Smith was born June 8, 1929. Kenneth died February 8, 1936 in Long Lane, MO. Obit: Billie Kenneth Irvin, small son of Mr. and Mrs. Charley Smith, was botn June 2, 1929, and departed this life February 8, 1936, after a three-day illness, at the family home in Long Lane. He was 6 years, 8 months, and 6 days of age.

Little Billy was loved by all who knew him and will be sadly missed by all.

He leaves to mourn his passing his mother and father, two sisters, Virginia and Doris Gene, one brother, Bobby, also his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as a host of friends.

Funeral services were conducted at Four Mile Monday morning at 11:00 o'clock by Rev. Virgil Waterman, and burial followed there under direction of L. B. Jones.

Charley Everett Smith and Angie Lowrain Klapp had the following child:
