Lewis died October 2l8, 2013 in Ocean Springs, Jackson Co., MS. OBIT: Lewis Milton Jones, Retired MSgt, USAF, age 83, died Monday, October 28, 2013 in Ocean Springs after a long battle with illness. He was born March 23, 1930 in Chilton County, AL. Lewis was a Korean and Vietnam War Veteran. He served 27 years in the United States Air Force as a Radar Surveillance Operator. He loved fishing and gardening.
Lewis was the oldest of 6 children and was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Nina Jones along with two brothers, Walter "Buddy" and Robert Jones.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Jean; four children and their spouses, Kenneth and Barbara of Hendersonville, TN, Judy and John Moran, Tom and Tina Jones, and Penny and Ben Stansbury, all of St. Martin, MS; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Ann Vinson, Sue Lee and Brenda Blackmon, all of Birmingham, AL. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Biloxi National Cemetery. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home - Howard Avenue is in charge of arrangements.
