Walter died June 20, 2013 in Dothan, Houston Co., AL. OBIT: Mr. Walter C. Jones, 78, of 6463 Hwy 62, Blakely, Ga., died Thursday afternoon at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Al. His funeral will be held Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 3 PM EDT in the Chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Smith officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 2 PM until 3 PM Sunday also at the funeral home. Burial will be held on Monday, June 24, 2013 in the Chestnut Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in the Cooper community near Clanton, Al, at 11 A. M. CDT (12 PM EDT) with Sister Jean Jones officiating.
Mr. Jones was born July 26, 1934 in Clanton, Al. to the late Clarence Milton Jones and Nina Lewis Jones. He was a Plant Manager for National Linen Service. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his wives, Imogene Jones and JoAnne Adams Jones and a brother Robert Jones.
Mr. Jones' survivors include 3 daughters: Jeannie Jones-Pickering & Robert of Miami Lakes, Fl., Carol Jones of Sefner, Fl. and Elaine Coile & Justin of Blakely, Ga. and a son; Dave Hudgins & Jan of Athens, Ga. He also has a brother, Milton Jones & Jean of Biloxi, MS; 3 sisters: Ann Vinson of Birmingham, Al., Sue Lee & Bob of Moody, Al. and Brenda Blackmon of Maplesville, Al. There are 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
He married twice. He married Ann Imogene Wilkinson. Ann was born February 23, 1935 in Montgomery Co., AR. Ann died February 19,1980 in Hillsborough Co., FL. He married JoAnne Adams.
Walter Clarence Jones and Ann Imogene Wilkinson had the following children:
