He married Julia Marguerita Case December 24, 1929 in Lincoln Co., MS. Julia was born November 9, 1911 in Lincoln Co., MS. Julia was the daughter of Hiram Spencer Case and Catherine Malinda (Katie) (___). Julia died April 19, 2004 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. OBIT: Services for Julia Marguerite Case Smith of Brookhaven are 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 21, at Friendship Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday from 5-10 p.m., and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., at Community Funeral Services Chapel. Mrs. Smith, 92, died April 19, 2004, at her residence. She was born in Lincoln County on Nov. 9, 1911, to Hiram G. Case and Katy Case. She was a homemaker. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Martin L. Smith; a son, Harold Luther Smith; and two grandsons, Chris Smith and Scott Smith. Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Elsie Jean and Mike Thompson of Brookhaven; her son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. Talmadge and Margaret "Mollie" Smith, and Carey and Linda Smith, all of Brookhaven; her daughter-in-law, Yvonne Smith of Brookhaven; her grandchildren, Michael and Susan Thompson of Clinton, Debra and Donald Case of Brookhaven, Connie and Todd Coon of Jayess, and Clara Smith of Charlotte, N.C.; and her great- grandchildren, Dr. Chad Case, and Jessica and Todd Smith, all of Jackson, Craig Case of Brookhaven, Katy Thompson and David Thompson, both of Clinton, Tyler Ball of Japan, Tate Ball and Eli Coon, both of Jayess, and Justin Smith, Blake Smith and Caitline Hamilton, all of Brookhaven.
Martin Luther Smith JR and Julia Marguerita Case had the following children:

25272 iii. Harold Luther Smith was born September 17, 1943. Harold died July 2, 2002 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. OBIT: Mr. Smith, 58, died July 2, 2002, at University Medical Center. He was born in Lincoln County on Sept. 17, 1943, to Martin L. Smith and Marguerite Case Smith. He was retired. He was former superintendent of education for Lincoln County School District. He had been Title I coordinator for Lincoln County Schools, principal and teacher at Bogue Chitto School, on the board of trustees of Co-Lin Community College, and an adult educator for Co-Lin Community College. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher and had been music director for over 30 years. He was a supply minister.
Preceding him in death was his father.
Survivors are his wife, Yvonne Sanders Smith of Brookhaven; his mother, Marguerite Case Smith of Brookhaven; his brothers, the Rev. Talmadge Smith and Carrey Smith, both of Brookhaven; and his sister, Elsie Jean Thompson of Brookhaven.
Memorials may be made to the Harold Luther Smith Fund at Bank of Brookhaven to help with final medical expenses.
