Carl died July 5, 2014 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co, MS. OBIT: Funeral Services for Carl Denver Smith of Brookhaven are 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 8 at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with interment at Johnson Grove Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8 pm on Monday July 7, at Riverwood.

Carl Denver Smith, 89, of Brookhaven, passed away July 5, 2014 at his residence.

He was born on June 19, 1925 to Johnson Commodor Smith and Mary Magee Smith.

Mr. Smith was a retired mechanic and United States Army Veteran of World War II. He was also a member of Brookway Church of Christ.

Preceding him in death was his parents, Johnson and Mary Smith; two great-grandchildren; seven brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Peggy Gillis Smith; daughter, Judy Crum Britt and husband Virgil of Hattiesburg;two sons, Carl Mark Smith and wife Wanda and Thomas A. Crum and wife Marilyn all of Brookhaven. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Carl Denver Smith and Peggy Gillis had the following children:
