Julian died January 5, 2008 in Jackson, HInds Co., MS. OBIT: Services for J. H. Smith, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at Friendship Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home, Natchez Drive location, is in charge of arrangements. Visitation is Sunday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and Monday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the church. Mr. Smith, 85, died Jan. 5, 2008, at the GV (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson. He was born on Sept. 25, 1922, to Lucius Smith and Rosa Smith. He was retired from Southern Wholesale and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were one sister, Mildred Montgomery; and four brothers, Alter, Alvie, Lamar and Leroy Smith. Survivors are his wife, Kathleen Smith, of Brookhaven; his sons, Harry Smith, of Monroe, La., and Tracy Smith and Kenny Smith, both of Brookhaven; his daughter, Sharon Smith, of Brookhaven; his sister, Ayleen Higdon, of Brandon; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He married Kathleen (Kathy) Smith. Kathleen was born May 9, 1928 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. Kathleen was the daughter of Lawrence Mathis Smith and Malinda Dunigan. Kathleen died October 26, 2015 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS.

Julian Harold Smith and Kathleen (Kathy) Smith had the following children:
