12187. Ayleen¹⁰ Smith (Lucius Napolean¹⁰, Nicholas (Nick) Napolean⁹, Amanda Melvina (Vine)⁸, Priscilla⁷ Allgood, Wyatt⁶, William (Pikey) Henry⁵, William John⁴, Edward³, William², Edward¹ Algood) was born in MS November 17, 1919. Ayleen died January 19, 2011 in Jackson, Hinds Co, MS.

She married Walter D. (Shorty) Higdon. Walter was born July 20, 1913. Walter was the son of Walter Alonzo Higdon and Mattie Lou Dromgoole. Walter died April 3, 2004 in Jackson, Hinds Co, MS. OBIT: Services for Walter "Shorty" Higdon of Brandon, formerly of Hazlehurst, are 2 p.m., Monday, April 5, at Stringer Family Funeral Services Chapel with burial in Hillcrest Church of Christ Cemetery.

Mr. Higdon, 90, died April 3, 2004, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. He was a retired truck driver. He was a resident of Copiah County until 2002 when he and his wife moved to Brandon to be closer to their daughters. Mr. Higdon was a member of Hillcrest Church of Christ. Preceding him in death was his brother, Willie L. Higdon. Survivors are his wife, Ayleen Smith Higdon; his daughters, Janice Cook of Flowood, and Patsy Simonson of Brandon; his sisters, Lora Mae Forrester of Belzoni, Nellie Walker of Ridgeland, Monteil Walker of Clinton, and Charlyne Warren of Clairmont, Calif.; his brother, Bob Higdon of Madison; and two grandchildren.

Ayleen Smith and Walter D. (Shorty) Higdon had the following children:
