Edwin died May 24, 2015 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co, MS. OBIT: Funeral Services for Mr. Edwin E. Smith of Brookhaven are 11:00 am Wednesday, May 27 at Friendship Baptist Church with burial at the church cemetery. Visitation is 5-8 pm Tuesday, May 26 at Riverwood Family Funeral Service. He will lie in state at the church from 10-11 am before the service on Wednesday. Mr. Smith. 83, passed away May 24, 2015 at his residence. He was born on July 24, 1931 to Elmer and Eunice Smith. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a chemical engineer and project manager, and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and sang in the choir. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Eunice Smith and granddaughter, Shea Smith. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jeannine T. Smith; sons, Eric Smith and wife Myrna, Blake Smith and wife Kelli, daughter Penne Irvin and husband Michael, brother, Truett Smith and wife Sarah and sister Isabel Coney.He is also survived by 9 grandchildren & 1 great grandchild, Zachary Irvin and wife Ruthie, Brandon Smith, Justin Smith, Caitlyn Irvin, Aimee McKay and husband Mark, Brianna Smith, Elleana Smith, Hannah Smith, a special adopted grandson Tyler Coker, a special adopted granddaughter Jessica Davis, and one great grandchild, Hazel, daughter of Zach and Ruthie Irvin, along with many nieces & nephews.
