Chalice died June 23, 1997 in Martinsville, Clark Co., IL. OBIT: Chalice Gard, 72, of Martinsville died at 11:50 a.m., Monday, June 23, 1997 in the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 26 at Greenwell Funeral Home, Martinsville, with Pastor Randy Murphy officiating. Burial is at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Martinsville. Visitation was held Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m.
She was born April 14, 1925 in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Loren and Gladys (Gamble) Norman. She married Don Gard on April 6, 1946. He survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Judy Gates of Tangier, Ind., Donna Boyer of Martinsville, and Linda Chrysler of Crown Point, Ind.; four brothers, Loren Norman, Jr. of Escondido, Calif., Ken Norman of Martinsville, Richard Norman of Chicago, Ill., and Bob Norman of Palmetto, Fla.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three infant sons, Jim, Larry, and Randy.
Gard was a member of the First Christian Church in Martinsville.
She married Donald Gard April 6, 1946. Donald was born August 7,1923. Donald died February 26, 2006 in IL.
Chalice Nordene Norman and Donald Gard had the following children:
