Kenneth died February 19, 2001 in Terre Haute, Vigo Co., IN. OBIT: Kenneth E. "Ken" Norman, 72, of Martinsville, died at 8:25 a.m. Monday (Feb. 19, 2001) at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Ind.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Greenwell Funeral Home in Martinsville with Randy Murphy officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville, with military rites. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born April 12, 1928, in Farina, the son of Loren and Irene Gamble Norman. He married Ethel Simon in 1956; she survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Don of South Holland, Jim of Davis and Rick of Martinsville; two daughters, Lois Towne of Bangor, Mich., and Debbie Hawley of Watson; three brothers, Loren "Duke" Norman of Escondido, Calif., Richard Norman of Ellenton, Fla., and Bob Norman of Palmetto, Fla.; 23 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son and one sister. Mr. Norman was a retired building contractor and a Marine veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Martinsville American Legion Post 515 and former member of the Martinsville City Council.
Kenneth (Ken) Elmo Norman and Ethel Simon had the following children:
