Jimmie died December 7, 2003 in Forrest City, Saint Francis Co., AR. OBIT: Jimmie May Campbell of Forrest City, formerly of Hughes, died Sunday at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel in Forrest City with burial in Harris Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Campbell, 65, a homemaker, was a member of The Tabernacle of Jesus Church. She leaves her husband, James Alfred Campbell Sr.; five daughters, Betty Been and Amanda Heard, both of West Memphis, Vickie Thomas of Forrest City and Karen Thomas and Charlotte Campbell, both of Wynne; three sons, James Campbell Jr. of Proctor, Bobby Campbell of Heber Springs and Carl Campbell of McKenzie, Tenn.; five sisters, Ruby Woods of Wynne, Jinnie V. Fisher of Burnsville, Miss., Marie Hobbs of Chicago, Ill., Bessie Featherson of Iuka, Miss., and Bonnie Parker of Helena; three brothers, J.W. Altman of Hughes, Carl 'Gene' Altman of Booneville, Miss., and Bobby Altman of Polk, Fla.; 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She married James Alfred Campbell September 15, 1956. James was born March 27, 1936 in Iuka, MS. James was the son of Barney (Billy) Buford Campbell and Mary Gertrude Hannon. James died January 12, 2006 in West Memphis, Crittenden Co., AR. OBIT: Mr. James Alfred Campbell Sr., age 69, of Wynne, died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis.
Mr. Campbell, born March 27, 1936, in Hot Springs, was the son of Billy Campbell and Gertrude Hannon Campbell. He was a truck driver and lived in the Forrest City and Wynne area for most of his life.
In 1956, Mr. Campbell married Jimmie Mae Altman and she preceded him in death in 2003, He is survived by three sons, James Campbell Jr. of Proctor, Bobby Campbell of Heber Springs and Carl Campbell of McKenzie, Texas; five daughters, Betty Beene of West Memphis, Vickie Thomas of Bartlett, Tenn., Karen Thomas and Charlotte Walker, both of Wynne and Amanda Heard of Marion; one brother, John Campbell of Elaine; 20 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
