James died May 4, 2015 in Alexandria, Rapides Parrish, LA. OBIT: Funeral services for James Herman Creed will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 6, 2015 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Jena with Rev. Terry Doughty and Bro. Pete Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Jena Cemetery, east of Jena. Friends may call Tuesday, May 5, 2015 from 4 until 11 pm and from 8am on Wednesday until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Creed, 71, of Jena was born on May 10, 1943 in Alexandria and passed from this life on Monday, May 4, 2015 at Riverside Hospital, located on the 5th floor of Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. He was a long time teacher and coach in the LaSalle Parish School System. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Darlee Sandifer Creed of Jena; sons, Mark Creed and wife Terrie of Jena and Max Stacy Creed of Dry Prong; step-daughter, Deedra Deason and husband Heath of Searcy, AR; sisters, Charlotte Creed of Jena and Mary Norris and husband Ricky of Benton; grandchildren, Sheena Clark & husband Nathan of Oakdale, Kendall Creed and Kristen Creed, both of Jena, James Dakota Creed of Dry Prong and Markus Creed of Oakdale; step-grandchildren, Peyton and Blayne Deason of Searcy, AR and Kyler Deason of Jena and great-grandchildren, Bracyn, Alexys and Autymn Clark. He was preceded in death by parents, Herman and Bertha Smith Creed, wife, Deliliah Doshier Creed and brother, Bill Creed. Pallbearers will be Pat Causey, Darrel McCartney, Gene Colvin, Charles David Roberts, Jamie Ogden and Tommy Terral. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Bryan, Ronald Andrews, Eddie Bridges, Reggie Ingram, Duck Hopkins, Paul E. Smith and Raymond Smith.
He married twice. He married Deliliah Doshie March 23, 1975. Deliliah was born November 27, 1946. Deliliah died February 23, 1996.
James Herman Creed and Deliliah Doshie had the following children:
