Marvin died July 17, 1993. Marvin was buried in Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Lincoln Co., MS.
He married Mary Inez Rutledge. Mary was born January 1, 1912. Mary was the daughter of Thomas Jones Rutledge and Mary Elizabeth Ulmer. Mary died October 13, 2005 in Longview, Gregg Co., TX. OBIT: Services for Mary Inez Rutledge Sandifer, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. today, Oct. 17 at Holly Springs Baptist Church. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation is today from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church. Mrs. Sandifer, 93, died Oct. 13, 2005, in Longview, Texas, where she had evacuated during Hurricane Rita. She was born to Tom Rutledge and Mary Rutledge. She was a homemaker and lived most of her life in Brookhaven. She lived with her daughter in Groves, Texas, for the past three years. She was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Marvin Harry Sandifer Sr.; her son, Tommy Sandifer; her brothers, T.J. Rutledge and Tracy Rutledge; and her sisters, Sarah White, Shirley Ritchie and Tessie North. Survivors are her sons, Marvin Harry Sandifer Jr. and his wife, Betty Sandifer, of Brookhaven, and Richard Neal Sandifer and his wife, DeeDee Sandifer, of Spring, Texas; her daughters, Shirley Sandifer King and her husband, Kirby King, of Port Neches, and Carol Sandifer Ryder, of
Groves; her daughter-in-law, Hilda Sandifer, of Brookhaven; her brother, Troy Rutledge and his wife, Francis; her 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers are her grandsons, Doyle Wayne King, Robert Leon King, Jimmy Sandifer, Marvin Thomas Sandifer Sr., Marvin Russel Sandifer; and her great-grandson, Michael Boudreaux.
Marvin Harry Sandifer and Mary Inez Rutledge had the following children:
