James died October 8, 2006 in Greenwell Springs, East Baton Parrish, LA. OBIT: James Ray Smith, 69, passed away Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006, at his home in Greenwell Springs, La.

He was an active member of the Church of Christ at Foster Road, Baton Rouge. After retiring, he found a new love and talent as an artist. He also loved to fish. Ray was a loving husband, and a caring father and grandfather. Visitation was Monday, Oct. 9, from 5 until 9 p.m. at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, La., and on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at New Salem Church of Christ in Brookhaven, from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Services are under direction of Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, and Harrigill Funeral Home, Brookhaven. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lucy Smith; four children, Suzie, Cammie, Rebecca, and Ned; four grandchildren, Madison, Kyle, Daniel and Emily; two sisters, Ann and Linda; and brother, Rodney. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cammie Lee Smith and Mildred Stuart Smith Magee; and sister, Louise Smith Sandifer. Pallbearers will be Keith Smith, John Goza, Daniel Legg, Al Felder, Josh Smith and Brad Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Adams and Kyle Smith.

 41963 i. Suzie12 Smith was born in Jackson, Hinds Co., MS January 13, 1960. Suzie died October 27, 2014 in Winnsboro, Franklin Parrish, LA. OBIT: Funeral services for Suzie Smith, 54, of , Newellton, LA, formerly of Baton Rouge, LA, will be held 10 am Saturday, November 1, 2014, at New Salem Church of Christ in Brookhaven, MS. Interment will follow in New Salem Church of Christ Cemetery under the direction of Riverwood Family Funeral Service. Visitation will be 9 am until ime of service at the church. Miss Smith was born January 13, 1960 in Jackson, MS to the union of James Ray and Lucy Faye Smith and passed from this life on October 27, 2014, at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro, LA. She is preceded in death by her father and one brother Ned Smith; grandparents: Bracy Smith, Helen Smith, Mildred Smith and Cammie Smith. Survivors include her mother, Lucy Smith of Newellton, LA; one sister Rebecca Adams and husband Lawrence of Newellton, LA; one brother Cammie Ray Smith of Katy, TX; one sister-in-law Becky Smith; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
